At least one person has been shot dead while several others were hospitalized after operatives of the Nigeria Police Force deescalation protesters in Katsina, on Monday, September 28, 2020.

Insidenaija gathered that the residents of communities under Jibia Local Government Area of the state took to the street to protest over flurry insecurity in the area.

According to reports, the protester reportedly blocked the popular Katsina-Jibia Express road in a massive protest when the victim was shot dead by the police, who were drafted in to contain the protest.

The protesters consisting of both adults and children asked president Muhammadu Buhari and the state Governor mallam Aminu Masari to resign over flurry insecurity in the area.

Kastina which is home state of the president has suffered deadly attack from bandits in recent time.

At least 300 people have been killed by armed bandits in Jibia, Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa and Safana local government areas of the state in the last two months.
